Egg donation
Egg donation means that an egg from another woman is fertilized with the man's sperm (or with donor sperm) and subsequently transferred into the uterus of the recipient woman.
This treatment is suited for women who:
- Are unable to produce own eggs
- Have eggs of poor quality
- Have a genetic disease that they do not wish to pass on to their children
You are permitted to bring your own known donor if you require egg donation. Your mother or daughter may not donate eggs, but your sister, a friend or any other member of your family could be suitable donors. The donor may not be closely related to the man, as this would increase the risk of the child acquiring hereditary diseases.
Cross donation (where a woman can immediately receive an egg donation if she brings along someone to donate for another patient) is also allowed.
We need more egg donors
It is permitted to use volunteer egg donors in Denmark. You can donate your oocytes (eggs), either as an open or an anonymous donor.
We are therefore very interested in hearing from women between the ages of 20 and 35, who would be interested in donating eggs. The more donors we have, the more women we can help.
Women who are undergoing IVF treatment and are between 18 and 35 can also choose to donate eggs. If you would like to donate some of your eggs to another woman, please tell us before you start treatment, as we will need to take some extra blood samples before we collect your eggs.
Do you want to hear more about how to donate eggs please contact our secretary on +45 86101388.
Egg donors can receive free consultations, without the obligation to conclude the donation process.
